Day 4: The 4 Lakes Hike
After a 20-minute transfer, this partially scenic hike is one of the most beautiful in the Hautes-Vosges. From Lac Vert to the trout lakes, passing through the heights of Lac Noir and Lac Blanc. There is no shortage of these lakes in the Hautes-Vosges, with their many charms and countless legends, nestled at the bottom of majestic glacial cirques. These lakes were dammed in the 19th century, primarily to supply local textile mills. Lac Blanc, the deepest in the Massif; Lac Noir, known as “nor mâ” when the local Roman dialect was still spoken in this area; Lac des Truites, the highest; and Lac Vert, which turns a vivid green in summer due to the growth of an aquatic plant on its surface.
A feast for the eyes, then, and an alpine-style hike in an idyllic setting
Transfer: 20 min / 13.3 km / Elevation gain: 476 m

Day 5: Tour of Kastelberg via Altenweiher Lake
From the source of the Moselotte, we’ll head toward the “Sentier des Neigés” trail, where an exceptional panorama will delight us. We’ll descend to Altenweiher Lake, where a pleasant climb awaits us to reach the summit of Rainkopf. A stop at the Firstmiss farm will bring our day to a close.
